Speaker Morgan Appoints Rep. Debbie Clary to Co-Chair North Carolina Study Commission on Aging and serve on the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations
August 29, 2003

Raleigh - Speaker Richard Morgan appointed Rep. Debbie Clary to serve as Co-Chair of the North Carolina Study Commission on Aging today. The Speaker’s office also announced that Clary will serve as a member of the important Join Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations. Among Speaker Morgan’s comments was to thank Representative Debbie Clary for her willingness to serve. Speaker Morgan said, “I am confident the people of North Carolina will benefit from your contributions in the coming term.”

Clary notes that, “This is an issue on which I have worked very hard since the beginning of my service in the Assembly. I am pleased to be a part of both committees but am especially appreciative for the opportunity to Co-Chair the Aging Study Commission again.” Clary served as Co-Chair of the Commission during her first two terms in the House and brings the valued experience of that service to the table.

According to the Speaker’s office, Rep. Clary’s term is effectively immediately and expires on January 19, 2005. Clary says her goals and expectations for the work of both committees will be one of high achievement. “I feel we’ve been successful working as a team in a non partisan fashion this year and the atmosphere that’s being created is one that has predetermined successful outcomes for the people of NC. Our seniors in this state deserve the best; they deserve to know that we are working together for them. I am anxious to get our committee hearings underway!”
